Little Cracker was originally conceived in Singapore, which provided Marilyn’s base as a documentary maker for twelve years.

Her experience as a producer and director has taken her all over Asia, Australasia, America and Europe, working with multiple-language crews, in often trying physical conditions. 

Her filmography covers everything from travel, finance and mega-construction to history and social issues - with clients including the BBC, Discovery Channel, National Geographic, The History Channel, and TVNZ.

Back home in New Zealand, Marilyn researched and co-wrote the theatrical feature “Balance of the Five Elements” and its accompanying TV series “Colours of China” a New Zealand/ Germany/ China co-production. 

More recent co-productions include the tragic story of Samoan author Sia Figiel, “Before the Moon Falls”, which premiered at Doc Edge 2025 and “Matriarchs”, a US based series about the impact of traditional matriarchal societies on modern issues.

She currently has a slate of her own productions on the way, including "Interference", a powerful social impact documentary in development with director Welby Ings and the support of the New Zealand Film Commission

Marilyn‘s focus as Creative Producer is on working collaboratively, supporting a diverse range of talent to create and nurture powerful stories that push boundaries.
